As 2013 began, there was much discussion about the Fiscal Cliff and the impact it would have on taxpayers and the economy. David will give a brief overview of what is the Fiscal Cliff, the different components of it and how it is expected to affect the economy. He will then discuss a number of the new tax related provisions and how advisors can assist their clients in understanding and benefiting from them.

Mr. Strachan is a Senior Vice President and Trust Officer in Wealth Management of Cambridge Trust Company. He serves as a Trust Officer to individual high net worth clients and families and also oversees Trust Administration and the Trust Officers.

Mr. Strachan has worked in trust administration for over twenty years and has been with Cambridge Trust Company since 1996. He began his career in 1989 as a Trust Administrator at Bankers Trust Company in New York. He subsequently worked at the Boston law firm of Choate Hall & Stewart LLP and at the Bank of Boston. Mr. Strachan is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council and is Treasurer of the Essex County Estate Planning Council. He is also President of the Wellmet Project, Inc. and is Chairman of the Topsfield (MA) Commissioners of Trust Funds.

Mr. Strachan received a B.A. degree in History from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York in 1989. He is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association's National Graduate Trust School and Private Wealth Management School, and Boston University's Certified Financial Planning Program. He received the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation in 1995.
