If your client has a medical emergency, will they be prepared?
Learn from Joanne MacInnis, RN, president of Aberdeen Home Care, Inc., will teach you how you, as a trusted advisor, can help your client be prepared. During this presentation, you will learn about:
- The critically important early moments of an injury or medical event.
- The vitally important documents that emergency medical providers are looking for.
- How to determine who is the client's "decision-maker" and when they were elected.
- If decisions made around extent of care are still appropriate.
Joanne will explore the "real-time" emergency room setting, and how you can protect your valued client and be prepared for an emergency medical situation and all its sequelae.

About our speaker
Joanne MacInnis, RN, is president of Aberdeen Home Care, Inc., an agency focused on the provision of high-quality, customized patient care with a focus on enabling elders to maximize their quality of life while remaining at home. Joanne has over 30 years of experience providing quality care to her patients. A registered nurse since 1985, she has worked in acute inpatient care at New England Deaconess Hospital Boston and Salem Hospital, and was a visiting nurses clinician, manager and administrator at VNA Care Network. Joanne was also a hospice clinician and clinical manager at Care Dimensions before founding Aberdeen Home Care, Inc. in 2001. Aberdeen, which serves all of Greater Essex County, is a provider of concierge-level, private-duty in-home care, from rehab and surgical recovery to custodial and end-of-life care. Aberdeen has 100 employees, including RNs, LPNs and Certified Nursing Assistants, and in January 2016, the company moved to a facility at 8 Cherry St., Danvers, MA.
